McGeary Organics 2-3-4 is formulated for crops with higher phosphorus and potassium requirements. The guidelines below are general recommendations, for specific recommendations and best results refer to a recent soil test.
In most applications 400 lb per acre is a good starting point. This is approximately equal to 1 lb per 100 ft2 (square feet).
Yard & Garden
For fall lawn applications use 20 lbs per 1000 ft2.
For vegetables and fruits see the McGeary Organics Fertilizer Application Guide for Vegetables and Fruits. Recommendations range from 4 to 10 lb per 100 ft2 depending on the crop grown.
Farm
For new grass and legume seedings 2-3-4 is a good starter fertilizer at the rate of 400 lb per acre. It may also be top-dressed after first and second cutting at 150 lb per acre each cutting.
For soybeans use 300-500 per acre. This should be adjusted based on manure applications and existing soil nutrients as determined by soil testing. Ideally this should be put in the row at planting.
For small grains apply 300-600 lb per acre at planting. This should be adjusted according to soil fertility as indicated by soil test.
